FARUQ ROBINSON,

I'm Faruq Robinson, a freelance illustrator, writer, and screenwriter based in Philadelphia, PA, with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts.

At large, my work is heavily influenced & derivative of the comic & graphic novel work I've seen & read growing up, including both superhero comics & Japanese anime/manga art styles; in addition to urban contemporary culture, music, and hip-hop. 

Visually my work is highly figurative, with an emphasis on the beauty of black bodies through the use of original characters, narratives, & portraiture. As a freelance illustrator, I create illustrations that feature my own original characters, designs, as well as fanart of my favorite characters, musicians, and franchises.

Currently, I have two original projects in the works, a graphic novel, "BIG JUICE," & an original screenplay, "Makeshift," both projects I hope I can one day make a reality.
